🌟 Meet SOME OF Our Past Grant Recipients

Mariam Martinez, George Washington University

Mariam’s dissertation research focuses on the perceptions of organizational identity alignment in the context of mergers and acquisitions, using Salesforce’s acquisition of Tableau as a case study. This study is significant not only for corporate environments but also for organizations such as colleges and universities that undergo changes and seek to maintain trust and cohesion. By examining how identity alignment impacts employee retention and stakeholder trust, Mariam’s dissertation research will guide educational institutions in managing change effectively and fostering confidence among students and faculty.

Robin Semien, McNeese State University

Student veterans bring unique strengths to higher education, including discipline, leadership, and resilience. However, they also face distinct challenges that can hinder their academic success and overall well-being. Supporting initiatives tailored to their needs is crucial for fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment. For that reason, GradGuard is proud to sponsor Robin Semien’s attendance at the National Association of Veterans’ Program Administrators 50th Anniversary Conference. Through engagement in this space, Robin will be able to bring back insights that will enrich her department’s work with veterans at McNeese State University.
